Residents of Nairobi can now access a wider range of county government services closer to them after Huduma Kenya rolled out key Nairobi County services at selected service centres, easing access to payments, permits, and documentation for both individuals and businesses.
In an update issued on Tuesday, April 7, Huduma Kenya confirmed that several essential Nairobi County services are now available at the Eastleigh, Kibra, and Makadara Huduma Centres.
Among the services introduced is the payment of ground rent, which remains a key obligation for landowners within the county. Property owners can now settle these payments conveniently at the centres without having to visit county offices.
The centres will also provide issuance of land rates invoices, enabling property owners to access billing details easily and stay compliant with county requirements. This move is expected to simplify the process of obtaining and tracking land-related charges.
Business owners have also been included in the expanded service offering, as they can now apply for business permits at the Huduma Centres. The service is aimed at streamlining licensing processes for both new and existing enterprises operating within Nairobi.
In addition, the centres will handle payment of county house rents, allowing tenants in county-managed housing to meet their rental obligations through a more accessible system.
Motorists will also benefit from the expanded services, as the centres will support payment of seasonal and daily parking fees, reducing the need to physically visit county offices for parking-related transactions.
This development comes weeks after Huduma Kenya dismissed claims of an ongoing mass recruitment exercise following a fake appointment letter that had circulated online.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 24, Huduma Kenya clarified that the alleged appointment letter was not genuine and did not originate from the agency.
"Huduma Kenya wishes to alert wananchi that a fraudulent appointment letter, which has been circulating online, is not authentic and should be disregarded," the statement read.
The agency emphasized that all official communication is only shared through verified platforms to protect the public from misinformation.
"All official Huduma Kenya communications are issued only through our verified channels, including our official website, Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre 1919, and verified social media accounts," the statement added.
Huduma Kenya further advised members of the public to verify any recruitment-related information before taking action, warning against falling victim to fraud.
"We urge citizens to remain vigilant and to confirm any information directly with Huduma Kenya before taking action. Any suspicious documents should be reported immediately," the statement concluded.
